What to Know

Edge2Edge Pricing

Standard longarm service pricing locally is 2 1/2 cents per square inch. This is calculated as length x width x .025. More dense or complex designs are 3 to 5 cents per square inch.

These are some of dozens of sites offering thousands of designs including geometrics, swirls, florals, seasonals, modern and traditional. I'm glad to help you narrow down and preview choices in various sizes. Choose your favorite design and I will purchase and download it; my longarm machine runs on bqm format.

Quilt Sizes

Placemat through California King sizes are possible. Small or charity quilts can be run side-by-side.

Project Prep for Quilting

Projects to be quilted should arrive pressed, with the backing 4" larger than the top on all sides. If the supplied backing is not large enough, I can baste extra fabric as needed to load it onto my frame.

Custom Digital Pricing

Designs for blocks or borders must be individually positioned, so this labor-intensive process starts at 4 cents per square inch (length x width x .04).

Embroidery Pricing

Simple, large-letter personalization created on my sewing machine is $10 per hooping. Smaller letters such as a quilt label or purchased stitch-outs from OESD or other sources involve computer work, and start at $20 per project. My embroidery machine runs on exp format.

Thread

A variety of threads are included in the quilting fee (polyesters, cottons, variegated). If you have a desired brand, color and/or fiber, let me know, or you can leave it up to me.

Longarm Rental

Feel free to come spend some time in the studio with me, working directly on your project or simply watching your beautiful item come to life on the machine! Free-motion quilting is $20 per hour; computerized designs are length x width x $.025. (Pricing is the same whether you or I do the stitching.) Contact me and we'll make arrangements to work together in my studio!

Custom FMQ Pricing

Meandering, swirls, feathers, stitch-in-the-ditch, and other free motion quilting artistry is $20 per hour, whether done by me or my client. My longarm rental program is unique in the area, so I'm happy to offer instruction and full-time supervision on my machine.

Batting

I carry rolls of batting in my studio. 80/20 in black or white (80% cotton, 20% polyester) and Quilters Dream Select (100% cotton) are $15 / yard. Hobbs Tuscany queen size is $50/pkg.

Charity Quilting

I always have a couple of charity quilts in my queue and plenty of fabric to donate, so guests are welcome to practice free motion or digital designs on projects with no pressure, as they'll be given away as gifts. Two small quilts can share one backing, and can be run at the same time on the frame.
